That was my summary and now for my commentary. (b) Now I will talk about my second part. (c) To conclude, I will say that it is complicated. (d) Secondly, another thing is the workers. (e) That's all.
Corrigé
(a) The firm presents its experiment as a success. Whether that success could be repeated in other sectors is another matter, and it is the question I would like to address.
(b) If the four-day week works for engineers, it is partly because their work is measured by results. This brings me to a second point: what happens where work is measured by presence?
(c) On balance, the four-day week looks less like a universal model than like a privilege of certain jobs — unless we rethink how work is organised in the others.
(d) Beyond the firm itself, the experiment matters most to the employees, and their view is more divided than the director suggests.
(e) Which leaves an open question: if productivity keeps rising, should we take the gains as higher wages or as free time?
