(b) You mentioned online bullying. Can a ban really stop it? (c) What would you have done if you had been the mayor?

(a) Concéder, puis maintenir : They do, up to a point: a ban can feel infantilising at sixteen. But the school day is a limited space, and I think it is reasonable to ask for a few hours without notifications.

(b) Nuancer : Not entirely, since most of it happens in the evening. What a ban can do is stop it from following pupils into the classroom, which is already something.

(c) Répondre avec le conditionnel passé (would have après if au pluperfect) et une idée précise : I would probably have started with a trial in one school, and I would have involved the pupils in drawing up the rules, so that it felt less like a punishment.

(d) Faire reformuler : I'm sorry, I'm not sure I understood the question. Do you mean whether the ban should apply to teachers as well?
