Énoncé
Réécrire au niveau C1, sans en changer le sens : (a) Google is too big and the judges said it was a monopoly. (b) British people pay more taxes than Americans but less than French people. (c) America stopped its climate policy in 2025.
Corrigé
(a) In August 2024 a federal court found that Google had unlawfully maintained a monopoly in general search, a landmark ruling in the revival of American antitrust. Verbe juridique (found that), adverbe précis (unlawfully), apposition qui situe l'enjeu.
(b) With tax revenues at 34.4 per cent of GDP in 2024, Britain sits halfway between the United States (25.6 per cent) and France (43.5 per cent) (OECD). Construction absolue (with… at) et image exacte (halfway between).
(c) In 2025 Washington reversed course on climate, withdrawing from the Paris Agreement and phasing out the tax credits created by the Inflation Reduction Act. Stopped était inexact : certains crédits subsistent ; reversed course et phasing out sont plus justes.
