Un résumé comparatif en format réduit

Anglo-Saxon economies and societies: a comparative approach · niveau 3 (difficile)

Énoncé

Résumer en anglais, en 150 mots environ, les deux textes suivants (écrits pour ce livre), en dégageant la question commune, la thèse de chacun et leur point de désaccord. Document A : « The Anglo-Saxon model has delivered what continental Europe could not: jobs. With flexible labour markets, low unemployment has become the norm in Britain and America. Workers who lose a job find another; firms dare to hire because they can adjust. Security does not come from a contract but from the vitality of the economy. » Document B : « Low unemployment is a poor measure of success when so many jobs offer neither security nor a decent wage. Zero-hours contracts and platform work have turned flexibility into a one-way street: firms adjust, workers absorb the shock. A model that cannot guarantee a stable income to those who work has a strange definition of security. »

Corrigé

Proposition (environ 150 mots) : Both documents assess the labour-market model of Britain and the United States. Document A praises it for creating jobs. It attributes the low unemployment of both countries to the flexibility of their labour markets, which encourages firms to hire and allows those who lose their jobs to find new ones quickly; in A's view, security lies in a dynamic economy rather than in legal protection. Document B challenges this assessment. It argues that low unemployment conceals the poor quality of many jobs, and that insecure arrangements such as zero-hours contracts and platform work make flexibility benefit employers only, while workers bear the risks. For B, a model unable to provide a stable income has failed on security. The two texts thus agree on the facts, low unemployment and flexibility, but disagree on what security means: employability for A, a stable income for B.

Ce qui fait la note. Un point d'accord sur les faits et un désaccord sur une notion (la sécurité) ; l'image de B (a one-way street) reformulée et non recopiée ; aucun chiffre extérieur, même exact.
