Réécrire au niveau C1, sans en changer le sens : (a) In South Africa the ANC is less strong now. (b) English is everywhere in the world and it is a problem for other languages. (c) Ireland is very rich because of big companies.
Corrigé
(a) Thirty years after the end of apartheid, the ANC lost its absolute majority for the first time in 2024 and had to share power in a Government of National Unity. Mise en perspective (thirty years after), fait daté, conséquence institutionnelle.
(b) The very ubiquity of English may come at a cost to linguistic diversity, as speakers of minority languages turn to the language of opportunity. The very (« le fait même »), may come at a cost, et une cause précise.
(c) Ireland's record GDP per head owes much to the profits that multinationals book there, which is why its own statistical office publishes a modified indicator. On corrige au passage l'idée fausse : le PIB irlandais surestime la richesse réelle des habitants.
