Corrigé

Proposition : In 2024, for the first time since the end of apartheid, the African National Congress lost its absolute majority in Parliament. Nelson Mandela's party had to resign itself to governing with its former opponents, in a Government of National Unity. Some see this as a failure, a sign that the promise of 1994 has not been kept: unemployment remains massive and inequality among the highest in the world. Others, on the contrary, see it as proof that South African democracy works: a dominant party can lose power at the ballot box, and accept it.

Les points délicats. « A dû se résoudre à » : had to resign itself to + -ing. « Y voient » : see this as. « N'a pas été tenue » : has not been kept (present perfect, le bilan vaut encore). « Les inégalités parmi les plus fortes » : inequality among the highest, ellipse du verbe autorisée. « Dans les urnes » : at the ballot box. « Et l'accepter » : and accept it, la brièveté de la chute est à garder.
