Compte rendu de presse. Récrivez cette déclaration comme un journaliste la rapporterait le lendemain, avec un verbe introducteur au prétérit.
“We are aware of the problem. We have already contacted the families. An independent inquiry will open next week, and I cannot comment further today.”
Corrigé
The spokesperson said that they were aware of the problem and that they had already contacted the families. She added that an independent inquiry would open the following week, and that she could not comment further that day.
Ce que le compte rendu déplace. Trois choses à la fois : les temps (backshift complet), les repères (next week the following week, today that day) et les personnes (we they, I she). Oublier le troisième est la faute la plus fréquente, parce qu'elle ne relève pas de la grammaire mais du point de vue.
