- The colleague I was talking to has just resigned.
- This is the theory the whole argument depends on.
- The village we come from has fewer than fifty inhabitants.
Corrigé
- The colleague to whom I was talking has just resigned.
- This is the theory on which the whole argument depends.
- The village from which we come has fewer than fifty inhabitants.
Les deux conséquences de l'antéposition. Le pronom redevient obligatoire, et il ne peut plus être that : on écrit to whom, on which, jamais **to that*. En anglais courant, la préposition reste au contraire à la fin — les deux registres sont corrects, mais on ne les mélange pas dans une même phrase.
