Complétez avec although, even though, despite, in spite of, however. Attention : deux de ces mots sont suivis d'un nom ou d'un -ing, deux d'une proposition, un seul relie deux phrases.

Despite ou In spite of + nom.
Although + proposition (sujet + verbe).
however — adverbe : il relie deux phrases et s'encadre de ponctuation.
even though + proposition ; even renforce la concession.
Despite ou In spite of + -ing.

La règle en une ligne : although / even though demandent une proposition, despite / in spite of un nom ou un -ing, however une phrase entière à laquelle il s'oppose.

La faute à ne jamais commettre : **despite of. On dit despite ou in spite of*, jamais le mélange des deux.
